Since 1998, International House Vancouver and Whistler have offered unique, educational, and
fun programs for young learners. These programs are affiliated and held to the standards of Languages
Canada, the IHWO, and AILIA, organizations that insist on the highest degree of educational excellence. We
insure the quality our classes with teachers who are qualified in both language instruction and working with
children and young adults. We also operate four different programs, so we can provide the best choices to fit
most any need.
International House Vancouver operates three satellite campuses, one at the University of British Columbia (UBC)and
two nearer to its main campus. International House Whistler also operates the Junior Adventure Camp, where
students learn English and about the environment in a natural setting. The programs are built to provide ESL
in a communicative, real-world setting, and combine activities with classes in specific topics young learners
find interesting and useful.
The Junior program at UBC allows for use of campus facilities such as the UBC library, the campus pools,
museums, movie theatre and student centres. They also get full use of the university's parkland, gardens,
trails –and of course- a number of wonderful beaches located nearby. At UBC, students stay in residences,
which are safe, spacious, and clean. Each floor is equipped with its own kitchen and the buildings have
common areas where students can hang out or play games.
Both the Vancouver Junior Program and the Children’s Adventure Camp are located in the heart of Kitsilano.
The schools have beautiful classrooms and spaces for outdoor games and sports. Students in these two programs
stay within our network of friendly homestay families. This allows for visiting families to stay together
and the possibility for greater immersion into Canadian culture.
