As we look ahead to the new year, IH Vancouver is thrilled to announce our 2025 Winter Camp, a highly anticipated program designed for students aged 9 to 17. This camp will run from January 6 to January 31, 2025, offering a unique blend of English language instruction and leadership development. It is an incredible opportunity for students from around the world to immerse themselves in a dynamic learning environment.

What to Expect at the 2025 Winter Camp

The Winter Camp at IH Vancouver is designed to meet the needs of students at all levels of English proficiency. Our integrated skills curriculum, taught by experienced instructors, ensures that students receive high-quality language instruction while engaging in a wide range of interactive and creative activities.

Each week, students will participate in task-based lessons, where they will practice essential language skills through journaling, presentations, and creative projects like crafts. These lessons focus on developing both English communication skills and leadership qualities. Students will attend classes four days a week, providing ample classroom time to improve their speaking, listening, and overall English proficiency.

It is not just about classroom learning. The Winter Camp includes three weekly activities and field trips that allow students to explore Vancouver and enjoy exciting experiences outside of school.

A Day in the Life of a Winter Camp Student

Here is a glimpse of what a typical day at the Winter Camp looks like:

• 8:50-11:45: Morning classes focusing on integrated English skills
• 11:45-12:45: Lunch break
• 12:45-15:00: Afternoon task-based learning or exciting field trips and activities

This mix of classroom instruction and extracurricular activities helps students build strong English language skills while also developing teamwork, leadership, and confidence in their abilities.

Sample Activities Calendar for 2025

Our activities calendar is designed to give students a taste of Vancouver’s rich culture and scenic beauty, alongside fun and adventurous activities. Here are some of the exciting outings planned for the 2025 Winter Camp:

• Week 1: Visit to Rogers Arena, Flyover Canada experience, and a tour of Steveston & The Cannery
• Week 2: Explore the BC Sports Hall of Fame, visit Stanley Park & Vancouver Aquarium, and go snowshoeing at Mount Seymour
• Week 3: Ice skating, trampoline park visit, and snow tubing at Cypress Mountain
• Week 4: Trip to the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, bowling, and a visit to Queen Elizabeth Park & Conservatory

In addition to these fun excursions, students will participate in task-based learning projects designed to help them apply the language skills they have learned in real-life situations.
