IH Vancouver offers a wide range of exam preparation classes. Our experienced exam preparation instructors work with you to meet your goals.
C1 Advanced, also called Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE), is one of our Cambridge English Qualifications. Its in-depth, high-level qualification shows you have the language skills employers and universities seek.
C1 Advanced is a thorough test of all areas of language ability.
The exam is made up of four papers developed to test your English language skills.
The formats below are the same for both paper-based and computer-based exams.

B2 First, also known as Cambridge English: First (FCE), is a qualification. It is a popular exam, accepted by thousands of businesses and educational institutions worldwide.
B2 First is a test of all areas of language ability.
This exam comprises four papers developed to test your English language skills.
The Speaking test is taken face to face, with two candidates and two examiners. This creates a more realistic and reliable measure of your ability to use English to communicate.
The formats below are the same for both paper-based and computer-based exams.

TOEIC is an internationally recognized English language proficiency test.
It is specifically designed to assess English communication skills in a professional or business context.
The test measures listening and reading skills, focusing on real-life workplace situations. Companies, organizations, and institutions use TOEIC scores to evaluate and compare the English language abilities of employees, job applicants, and students.

TOEFL is a widely recognised English language proficiency test.
It is specifically designed for non-native English speakers who want to study at universities and colleges in English-speaking countries. The test measures the ability to understand and use English in academic settings. More than 11,000 institutions accept TOEFL scores in over 150 countries.
Benefits of taking the TOEFL exam include:
- Meeting English language requirements for university admissions.

CELPIP is an English language proficiency test accepted for Canadian immigration and citizenship purposes. It is designed to assess the English language skills of individuals applying for permanent residency or Canadian citizenship.
The test measures listening, reading, writing, and speaking abilities in real-life situations.
CELPIP scores are accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as proof of language proficiency.
Benefits of taking the CELPIP exam include:
- Meeting the language requirements for Canadian immigration programs.
- Demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively in English within Canadian contexts.
- The test is available in two versions: CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS (Listening and Speaking).
- CELPIP test scores are valid for two years.

Monday to Friday – 8:50 am to 1:20 pm
Monday to Friday – 8:50 am to 3:20 pm
Evening classes
Monday to Friday – 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Class times might shift due to Canadian holidays.
*This program has been approved as part of General English Program by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.
Students have the flexibility to study English as a Second Language (ESL) for as short as one week or extend their study until they achieve their desired proficiency level.
*Please be aware that a Study Permit is required for any program with a study duration exceeding six months in Canada.
